The A.H.A.B. (Adaptive Hand Assistive Brace)

The A.H.A.B is device for those with impaired function in the hand, wrist, and fingers that facilitates in the use of electronic devices and operation of writing utensils while at the same time offering support to the wrist. The device was designed for a student at the school who sustained a spinal cord injury in 2010. Alternate Video Link.

Newspaper Packing Device

The Newspaper Packing Device helps a person with a disability fold and insert a newspaper into a plastic bag. This device can be used for people with different types of physical and dexterity related disabilities. The device was created for the NISH CRP (Community Rehabilitation Program), Community Support Services (CSS) in Gaithersburg, MD. Alternate Video Link. 

St. Ursula Academy, Toledo, OH

The Pathway

The Pathway is a device that gives an audible cue to help a person who is blind locate a specific location by using audio cues through a key fob and a receiving box. This device was designed through the Sight Center of Northwestern Ohio and is in use by the school chaplain. Alternate Video Link.

Mail Counter

The Mail Counter is a device for employees in a mailroom with dyscalculia or other disability that helps them count the number of pieces of mail using an infrared sensor. This device was created for the NISH CRP, Service Source, Washington, DC. Alternate Video Link. 

Wethersfield High School, Wethersfield, CT

The File Up

The File Up is a device to assist a person in a wheelchair access file folders from a file cabinet. This device was designed for a US Veteran with quadriplegia.  Alternate Video Link.
