Employee Research System

The Employee Research System (ERS) is a national employment database that tracks employment of people with significant disabilities over time. It uses a secure data warehouse to enable production of a wide range of analytical and statistical reports. The ERS supports aggregation of data across many dimensions, such as demographics, wages, lines of business, geography, and time.

ERS will track, at the individual worker level:

  • Demographic data, such as age, race, and disability
  • Employment data, such as training, wage rates and hours
  • Benefits and funding data
  • Veteran status
  • Employment status changes, such as placements, promotions, terminations, and reasons for change in status

ERS focuses on baseline and outcome information for people with significant disabilities working in the AbilityOne Program. Community Rehabilitation Programs (CRPs) participating in ERS are encouraged to provide information on both their AbilityOne and their non‐AbilityOne workforce. People without significant disabilities may also be included at the CRPs discretion.

Participation is voluntary and free. NPAs are encouraged to participate, to ensure that the system includes sufficient data to be able to draw reliable conclusions about the AbilityOne workforce (and ultimately, to compare the AbilityOne workforce with other programs and people served).
