A short description about your blog

mv1There are lots of great conceptual designs coming out of the tech sector lately but the MV-1 is something to get a little more excited about.  That's because this piece of tech has surpassed the "concept" status and is due to go into production later this year.  It's main improvement and appeal over the traditional "converted" wheelchair accessible vehicles is that it has been built from the ground up to transport its occupants, safely, comfortably, and stylishly.

Wheelchair with treadsJosefina Chaves-Posse worked with Engineers at the University of Alberta to develop a unique Wheelchair concept that employs tank-like treads that could go up and down stairs and be generally more mobile and independent.

In June 2009, the Institute contracted with Mathematica Policy Research to explore the use of an employer payroll tax credit to provide employers with stronger incentives to hire people with disabilities.

Mathematica developed a preliminary model of a budget-neutral employer payroll tax credit, estimating the potential cost savings to the Federal government of companies employing people with disabilities.
