NISH affiliated agencies with an AbilityOne® contract can receive up to $12,500 with the Quality Work Environment (QWE) Grant.

 

The purpose of the grant is to aid agencies in the implementation of their QWE Strategic Action Plan.  Often there is no cost to implement goals in the QWE action plan.  However, the grant is available so finances are not a barrier to an agency’s creativity in enhancing the work environment for  employees with disabilities.  Examples of how the grant can be used include, but are not limited to, assistive technology, job development, training, and consulting.

 

The grant offers $10,000 in matching funds and an additional $2,500 of unmatched funds is available to agencies that can demonstrate that the grant will be used for a project that is expected to be a QWE Outstanding Practice.  A QWE Outstanding Practice is one that can be replicated at other agencies, demonstrates success over time, is applicable to agencies of varying sizes, is applicable to different lines of business, and can be implemented and maintained without excessive cost.
